My Grandma thinks I'm good at my Job

I brought a few things home that have been collecting dust in my office that I designed over the last year or so. When I visited my grandma last week she asked me to bring her the pieces I've done for her to look at. So here's a few things that I have a copy of:

I used the concept of the postcard I designed to get the job on the Visitors' Guide. They wanted to use the same design from the previous year because we only had a couple days but I couldn't help myself.

Design is a weird thing. It's something that anyone can have an opinion about vs the job of an engineer or accountant where nobody knows enough about it to critique and someone can't just pick it up by buying a copy of the engineering equivalent to photoshop. Someone who is terrible at design could be fairly successful in a small town because they only have to do better than the wedding invite templates that are provided by a printing company. The world of a designer is also a weird thing. I mean, really, our job isn't that important if we were thrown into a zombie apocalypse. I'd have to beg my sister to let us live on their farm. My skills wouldn't help me survive in the least but the designer culture tends to take themselves pretty seriously.

Anyway, the point of all these thoughts are that I'm thankful and happy to have a job I really enjoy in a small, cheap town where there aren't many available.
