Last August, Jake's entire family all made the pilgrimage to Bear Lake for Raspberry Days, the beach, and BIRTHDAYS! It was (in chronological order) Syrus's, Jake's and Abbys birthday. Jake's mom built a house by the Bear Lake beach less than a year ago and we're all very obliged to come visit.
So, at 1 year, Abby was still crawling, both bear style and the conventional kind. She seems to be a studier. She'll take a new object and hold it in her hands at all different angles while she pokes and prods. I love when she does it because her cheeks goosh forward. Yesterday she sat on the table for almost an hour by herself while she studied everything that was sitting on it. She says dis? (this) and Ma! and sometimes makes animal sounds (the snake and the monkey and the monster). She has the funny, little sense of humor. She hides from us and jumps out, she does sarcastic laughs, and seems to think everything is funny. And she plays peek-a-boo like nobody's business.
Anyway, here are a few pics of August in Bear Lake:
Dinner Time!
Happy Birthday! We sang it three times.
First Plunge // She generally didn't try using her hands. Everyone made fun of her for it.
On the first day I missed a spot of sunscreen right below her eyes. She looked haggard all weekend.
The Lake View.
The Schrubbs from South Dakota.

Happy Birthday (forever ago) Jake and Abby! Oh my goodness- the view from that cabin is BEAUTIFUL!!! What a fun place!
