Collector.

One of my interns sent me this article about how artists are collectors. It said "An artist is a collector. Not a hoarder, mind you, there’s a difference: hoarders collect indiscriminately, the artist collects selectively. They only collect things that they really love."

When I was little I saved everything but the older I get I've started to hate keeping things...maybe I'm trying trying to become a minimalist. I still have random little treasures I've held on to though. Some of my favorite's can be found in the kitchen:

My Grandma died about 4 months before I got home from Ireland. Since the house was going to be sold and everyone else had taken what they wanted, I was able to go and get whatever I wanted. I scored on almost everything you see in the above pic plus some other goodies scattered around the cupboard. I love them and always think of my grandparents and eating at their house as I wash/eat off of them.

There's so much crap to buy and money to spend decorating houses. I love HGTV but the $ people drop on their home decor makes me sick. Cool little pieces that have a story are so much more homie, even if they don't go together. I'm sure all you homies out there would agree.

...
to be continued with living room stuff (once I clean it)...
