Last week I found out I wasn't able to get short-term disability which basically meant I wouldn't have the benefit of staying at home with my kid for a couple months and getting 60% pay. I'd have to use all my sick/vaca days and then go back to work or not have any income. I felt my face flushing and my blood boiling as I talked to the poor HR guy about how this could've happened and after I hung up angry tears continued to flow for 5 minutes.
Later that day I discovered from Logan city we weren't allowed to use a photo because it was on Logan City power plant infrastructure. Which meant my 25 minute hike with a heavy belly to do the photo shoot was done in vain. The city attorney and power plant administrator were not left wondering if I thought they were stupid
Then, today I called Logan city about getting permission to build a lean-to carport because we'd have to build it close to our property line and they said there was a 0.001% of getting permission.
Gah! People are jerks! I've never dealt with so much red tape in my life. Dang government.
Anyway, later this afternoon I got the blessed news that I would be getting short-term disability. The lovely HR guy looked into it and discovered I'd never opted-out. I guess all my complaining worked!
One of the lessons I'm slowly learning is how to deal with the dumb, illogical ways of society. There's so much crap in the world but I'll have to deal with it until I die so I might as well figure out how to be happy inside the system.
...
Or move to the remote places of Wyoming and become a hermit.

| Here's my attempts at saving to shoot by putting rocks there. There's something about it that doesn't look quite right but I can't figure out what it is. Maybe it's the dude's 70's hair-do. ha! |

| A carport mock-up I was going to present to Logan City for our lean-to. This got me so excited and ready to put the plan in motion. Dadgum it! |
