We drove to Rapid City for July fourth week. Jake's entire family was there which was pretty great although bittersweet since his dad is in the process of selling their childhood house so he can retire in Arizona. This was the last time they'll all be there... I feel like crying just thinking about it and I didn't even grow up there.
My dream of seeing July 4th fireworks over Mount Rushmore will have to remain unrealized since there was a fire hazard and fireworks were outlawed. So we hung out at the house and did our own legal fireworks.
A couple days later we went to Bear Country USA. Bears should be domesticated so they could be our pets.

Those bears are so crazy! I want one too. Saying goodbye to childhood homes is sad... hopefully you guys will take your kids back someday for the Mt. Rushmore fireworks!
