But the reason for this post is to impart some of the wisdom from the schooling that applies to nearly EVERYONE.
Numba One, fonts not to use:
If I ever used any of these on a project, my teachers and peers would eat me for dinner. I realize some could care less about this stuff and I'm usually a total snob when it comes to designs. But, the misuse of fonts can say the same thing as wearing an outfit that is extremely unflattering and gross.
Keep this in mind the next time you have to make a sign-up sheet for church! Ha!
I've been mildly working on a website for my portfolio and last night at about 10pm I decided I didn't like it. So at 3am I had something I liked to bring to class. Unfortunately, I've been sick for about a week and now I feel like poo. But, my teacher had nothing to say about it...for the first time...ever. That's what 4ish years does I guess. Here's a few screen shots.

I realize I've used over 10 fonts on the same design and the general rule 2-3. Ah well.
So there my sermon. I hope everyone will take it in their heart and use it in their daily lives.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. I am not a graphic expert like you, but Papyrus, especially on a logo, is the worst idea ever. And comic sans and curlz MT made me laugh. And I guess I have never noticed Scriptina. But it reminds me of Zapfino which I have been known to use here and there. Ah well. Next time I will copy your website because I LOVE it! I am digging that color of blue right now. You are a genius.
ReplyDeleteYay for graduation!
I particularly like the "claymation" font and the "project" font. The design looks so great I went back and looked at it again! way to go.
ReplyDeleteYou are graduating?! I can't believe it!! I thought I would never see the day. Now that it is here, I am having a difficult time processing the event. Congrats! Yeah for Kara.
