...Werewolf Bar Mitzvah, Spooky, Scary....

It was good Hollerween. We did nothing Hollerween night because we wanted to see the turnout of trick-or-treater in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, the church's trunk-or-treat had a monopoly on all the neighborhood kids and we only got two groups. Is anyone else bothered by how easy it is for kids to make a killing on halloween these days? They walk around in a parking lot and come away with a pillowcase full of loot! Sheesh!
Anyway, we celebrated a week early with family because Ty, Jenn and their kiddos needed to make their way to L.A. so Ty can try to fulfill his life-time dream of becoming and actor. Go Ty!
Here's some pic-cha's

Jake would only consent to wear this kids wig with a widows peak and matted down hair. I wore my grampa's old navy sailor suit. We fought over the gun all night. Who deserves it more? A goth or a sailor? No brainer.

I couldn't resist making this pic look vintage...hee hee yay for ma!

BINGO!!!!

The day before Halloween we finally decided to carve our pumpkins. I sometimes shove a little pumpkin in my pumpkin's (the right one) mouth.

The night before we had a poker night for Luke's birthday. We were playing anaconda style where you reveal one card at a time and bet along the way. Ster and I were the only ones in it. So we both started out faking the straight flush until we got to the ten....OH!!!!!....Oh man but wait....here comes matching jacks!!!! OHHHHH!!!!!! We're lucky the baby didn't wake up....sorry Natalie! My throat hurt for at least a day.

And to send you off is the lovely Jake. He won a gold bracelet for winning the poker game that night. Bling! You go Flava Flav.

  1. I forgot to say....THANKS Jenni for being so rad and planning it all. The gift bag you made us has kept us happy for over a week now. Who knew play-doh had so many possibilities? Not me.

  4. Thanks for the pictures Kara! Glad you enjoyed the play-doh. It was so fun to see you all. Kolby did the trick or treat thing for three straight hours! Addie and Landry were also impressive.

  5. Loved this post!! Oh family, I miss you guys! Really now, Kara- we shouldn't begrudge today's youth the bounteous Halloween loot they're able to score in these latter days. After all, we must remember that while they may exceed us in quantity, they can never match the QUALITY of the trick-or-treating experience we enjoyed. Come now, you must see reason on this matter. I love the picture of Mom! ( : And I really liked Jake's poker face! I want a better pic of you in the navy suit so I can see it head to toe - looked cool though! Love youuuu!
