I've been frequenting the DI lately to find some picture frames. I found this framed cloth "switzerland mtn scene". I didn't really know what to think of it, but I liked the frame and bought it.
I'm tempted to reupholster one of my chairs with the cloth that was in the frame. Would that be weird?
We've got a sweet carpet combination. I was planning on making a chalkboard out of the frame. But, instead I painted a wall.
Now nieces and nephews have something to do when they come over!
We started noticing the carpet in front of the couches was dirtier than the rest so I started looking for rugs. After wasting loads of time, I realized big rugs are ridiculously expensive so I bought three from Kohl's for $50 total and sewed them together.
Christmas decorations! We don't have very many...yet. My sister and I made yarn and felt wreaths after Thanksgiving. Wrapping the yarn around takes a looong time but we endured.
Our Christmas tree is pretty ghetto. My parents thought they threw it away last year but luckily for us they didn't. But the branches are falling down and are being held on by Christmas lights. The garland is weird cotton ball stuff I found at Walmart. There's also pinecones and paper flowers I stole from my friend Blaire's wedding. Aaaand, that's about all that's on there.
Lastly, I've been wanting to do wainscoting in our living room for awhile because all but one wall are blank. Plus there's a lot of colors for one room, but I'm scared to commit. Any suggestions for me?
I was thinking about doing a tall wainscot in a creamy color and painting the top part with the dark brown that in that last pic. The couch looks really purply. I dunno. I realized recently that graphic design does not translate to interior design. Maybe I'll just put loads of art all over the walls.
Karaaaa! You're so hip. Yes, yes, yes on using the cool switzerland fabric to cover a chair! I think it would be awesome anyway - but sometimes I think you and I like to support each other in our weirdness. ( : And I don't know if I quite understand what you're wanting to do with the wainscoting in your living room... would you have to cover up most of your walls with it? Do you like glue it on? You certainly could cover your walls with sweet art since you crank out your OWN sweet art all the time. In fact, I've thought on more than on occasion, how I'd like you to make/design/paint (whatever!) something cool for me to hang in my home. I could even pay you for whatever it cost to create it! Think it over, sista...
ReplyDeleteI think you endured wrapping the wreaths better than me! Thanks for the help. I'm proudly displaying mine on the outside of my house, by the door. Hmmmm the wainscoting- I think it would be cool. Scott may be able to help??? (he LOVES when I volunteer him for projects!) Good luck with your final school stuff. I'm proud of you- yeah you're done!!!
